You don't always need a logical consequence

Many perceived discipline problems are just inaccurated developmental expectations

Sometimes there’s a logical/natural consequence…but not always and you do not need to spend your brain energy thinking up the perfect response to every parenting dilemma!!

In this example, there isn’t an appropriate natural consequence because this isn’t a discipline issue it’s a developmental issue (as in, the 3 year old’s typical development leads them to do things that are unsafe).

I have an upcoming training where I talk through a dozen specific parenting challenges and the AUTHORITATIVE approach. Authoritative style parenting is associated with the best outcomes in the short and long term for both child and parent and child-parent relationship.
